§ 69. Fiscal year.

  • From and after January 1, 1920, and until otherwise provided by the council by ordinance, the fiscal year for said city shall begin on the first day of January and end with the thirty-first day of December of each year. Not later than June first, 1919, a budget shall be prepared and an appropriation ordinance adopted, covering the period from July first, 1919, to January first, 1920. Licenses for the privilege of doing business in the year 1919, from and after May first of said year, shall cover the period from May first to and including December thirty-first of said year, and the taxes thereon shall be apportioned accordingly. Thereafter the budget shall be prepared annually as above provided. From and after January first, 1920, and until otherwise provided by the council by ordinance, city license taxes for doing business shall be payable during the month of January of each year, and city taxes on real estate shall be payable during the month of July of each year, and city taxes on personal property shall be payable during the month of November of each year.
