§ 117. Application to incumbents.

All persons in the city service who, at the time this Charter takes effect, hold positions in the classified service as established pursuant to the provisions hereof, shall be deemed to be on probation for six months from that date in accordance with paragraph (7) of section 112 hereof. If retained at the completion of the period of probation, they shall hold their positions until discharged, reduced, promoted or transferred in accordance with the provisions of this Charter.
