§ 25-71. General requirements.
(1)
Every vehicle operated or moved upon a highway shall at all times be equipped with such lamps as are in this division required for different classes of vehicles, which lamps shall at all times be capable of being lighted, except as herein otherwise provided. This subsection shall not apply to any vehicle for transporting well-drilling machinery licensed under section 46.1-156 of the Code of Virginia, when operated only between the hours of sunrise and sunset.
(2)
No motor vehicle shall be operated upon a highway in the city which is equipped with any lighting device other than those lamps required or permitted in this division or by state law, or required or approved by the superintendent, or required by the federal department of transportation.
