§ 31-12. Emergency vehicle right-of way lanes.

(a)

All malls constructed within the city contain emergency vehicle right-of-way lanes for the use of emergency vehicles. The location of such emergency vehicle lanes is plotted upon maps, which are on file in the office of the director of public works.

(b)

It shall be unlawful for any person to construct any sign, marquee, awning, scaffolding, architectural projection or other permanent or temporary structure over an area located within an emergency vehicle right-of-way lane. No building or sign permit shall be issued for such obstruction by the building official. (Code 1958, §§ 32.1-35, 32.1-36)
