§ 31-9. Same—Exceptions generally.

The provisions of section 31-8 shall not apply to the following vehicles:

(1)

Fire vehicles, police vehicles, ambulances responding to emergency calls and postal vehicles.

(2)

Utility vehicles and building services vehicles engaged in the repair of hazards or the correction of disruptions of essential services.

(3)

Self-propelled wheel chairs or invalid tricycles operated by persons whose physical disabilities prohibit normal walking.

(4)

Mall maintenance vehicles.

(5)

Vehicles for display or operated for special events at such times and places as may be authorized by a written permit issued by the city manager.

Mini-buses or trackless trains operated by a public transportation agency. (Code 1958, 32.1-4)
