§ 33-73. Qualifications; manner of selection; training; uniforms and equipment.

  • The city manager is authorized and directed to prescribe and promulgate rules and regulations governing the qualifications, manner of selection, training, uniforms and equipment of auxiliary police officers. Such rules and regulations shall require that all auxiliary police officers satisfy all training requirements established by or pursuant to the laws of the commonwealth, and that their qualifications, manner of selection, training and equipment, to the greatest extent practical, be comparable to that of full-time law enforcement officers. The badges of auxiliary police officers shall be distinguishable from those of full-time law enforcement officers.
