§ 35-3. Maintenance and operation of crossing gates.

  • It shall be the duty of railroad companies, or of any corporation, receiver or individual operating the same, to maintain the gates referred to in section 35-2 and to provide for the closing of the same on the approach of cars, engines or trains, so as to prevent accidents, and to have the same immediately opened when the engine or train has passed, so as to interfere as little as possible with public travel over the crossing.
